Lake Chad In Africa Might Dry Up In The Next 20 Years


Lake Chad which was the size of the state Maryland just 40 years ago, could possibly dry up in 20 years U.N.'s Food and Agriculture Organization say. Currently the lake supports the livelihoods of over 30 million people between Chad, Cameroon, Niger, and Nigeria. As of 2001, the lake was one-fifth its original size and climate change as well as population growth has caused the lake's decline. Find out more about this crisis here.
