Today In Black History: Ice Cream Scooper
On this date in 1897 Alfred L. Cralle invented the ice cram scooper with patent #576,395. Cralle was the first black person to receive a patent in Pittsburgh. A native of Virginia, he was born in Lunenberg County on September 4, 1866, and educated in the common schools of the county.
